More Mini Knitting!

How's everyone enjoying the snow!  Luckily most of it's gone here, although the roads and paths are still treacherous, hopefully it will all be gone completely by Sunday.  Think we may be due a bit more tonight but am hoping it won't be very much if we do end up with some.

Not been able to go very far in this weather but have not been idle, well maybe as far as housework is concerned lol, but have been doing quite a bit of crafting, started knitting a jacket for my great niece, but of course mini knitting soon overtook!

Had an email from a very nice lady asking if I could make her 2 grey v necked school jumpers, for her "twins", of course I did, any excuse for a bit of mini knitting!  Well I managed to get them finished today and here they are

Although they are very plain, I really rather like them and they are very reminiscent of school days!

Also my dearest friend Paula asked me to make a few hats to boost her supplies in her knitting shop, so managed to make a few this evening which will be on their way tomorrow.  I do like hats and scarves and things like that as they are so quick to make.  Here they are

Paula's also asked for another doll, and I just happen to have one in the cupboard!  I'd forgotten about it, but a lightbulb has just come on and i've remembered I'd sold the golly doll but not the dolly doll, so that can head off tomorrow as well!

As you may have already guessed Lake View still hasn't made it out the box, it will do, it's got to!  It can't sit in the cupboard much longer, it's got to be done!  I've also got a gift voucher for hobbycraft from Christmas and i'm itching to use it!  I'm sure if I start Lake View i'll be finding lots of things to spend it on!

Well, that's enough for tonight, watching CBB and really hoping that Speidi don't win, keep hoping they are going out and they're still in grrrr!

Mini Patchwork

I've finished the mini patchwork for Paula, surprisingly it took most of that pile of patches to complete, I also did a little patchwork pillow as well.   I'd forgotten how long these patchworks take, it's the preparation of the patches that takes the time rather than the sewing together, this was quite a tiny quilt made with 1cm patches and hexagons as well which always take longer.  Also did a couple of mini jumpers as well.

Have been busy making a jacket for my great niece as well, so mini knitting is on hold at the moment.  I shall be starting an order for a couple of mini grey school jumpers though, probably will make a start on them tomorrow.  I've also got another Christmas quilt to make for another lady so I shall be quite busy lol.

I'm really only doing patchworks and knitting to order now, I am debating with myself whether to have a "Showing" page here on the blog and then if anybody wants a quilt or knitting can order it in whatever colour etc. they want.  It's still just an idea at the moment, really need a few more followers, but that's my own fault for not keeping on top of my blog, must do better in future!  I'm thinking of maybe doing a giveaway as well, maybe with a mini quilt or  mini knitting or something or maybe both!

Anyway here is the finished quilt that i made for my dear friend Paula, forgot to take pics of the jumpers before i sent them doh!

Is it really January!

Hope everyone had a lovely christmas and wish you a Happy New Year.

I can't believe it was November when I last posted!  Have to say haven't really done much mini-ing, Christmas sort of overtook!  I was still crafting but just  not mini!  Made quite a lot of things for Christmas presents, including patchwork cushions, gloves, scarves, etc. etc.  So it was definitely more a home made Christmas!

Still Lake View is sitting unopened in the cupboard.  I find it such a daunting project, very scary building from a bare kit, especially when it's in 2 separate boxes, well 3 if i include the garden room, but it will be built and decorated this year.

I have just started a mini quilt for my friend Paula.  It's made using the tiny 1cm hexagon patches, although I did seem to get carried away making the patches and am sure I will have far too many, although it will take quite a lot, as it's only a single quilt it's taking 11 hexagons across and 9 hexagons down, so will see how many are left and if there are enough I will make another quilt, but I think maybe there won't be enough to do a complete one, but while sorting out all my materials I did find quite a lot of "leftover" patches so may just combine them and make a multi coloured quilt.

Anyway here's the quilt so far, only started sewing it together this morning so still a long way to go.

Have quite a few mini projects lined up, so think I will be a busy bunny!  Got to make another Christmas quilt, although there's no rush for that as it's not needed till next Christmas, also got a bit of mini knitting to do, going to do some mini knitted patchwork blankets and also got to do another jumper.  I've also got a few full size knitting projects to do as well, not sure when Lake View will be built at this rate!

It's definitely getting colder and I think there might even be a bit of snow Monday, even down here in the South.  I've got a stew bubbling away on the stove at the moment, winter is definitely here!

I shall apologise again for my lack of blogging, but i really don't know where the time has gone!  Hope everyone had a lovely time over the festivities but now unfortunately it's back to normal!

Mini Knitting for Paula

Although i haven't managed to update my blog, I have been busy mini knitting for my dear friend Paula for her shop at Quayside.

She wanted some Christmassy things for her wool and christmas shop, so i got busy with the mini needles!  I have to say I think my favourite is the reindeer jumper, i'm really pleased how it turned out

I've also done a bit of mini christmas patchwork as well.  Have made 1 mini double quilt and also a little wall hanging as well.

As well as these, have also made a snowman, santa and snowflake jumper and hat.  Also a little doll and golly, so I have been quite busy!

These will all be on their way to Scotland tomorrow

Will it Ever Get Out

Now I am seriously beginning to wonder if Lake View will ever make it out the cupboard, let alone the box!  No, it definitely will, I just don't know when!  Life seems to take over somehow and my good intentions end up going out the window!  I seriously do want to get it started though.

Have been mini knitting again for a friend on facebook who wanted a few bits and pieces, they are all finished now and will get the post on Monday.

I' ve also completed my first Mr Frosty snowman, I do enjoy knitting these!  Mrs Frosty will be following shortly.  I make these as gifts for my "little" relatives for Christmas, they do seem to enjoy them.  They should have umbrellas etc. as well, but I don't bother with these as they are for small children.

Half term this week as well, seem to be quite busy as well.  Off to Thorpe Park on Tuesday with the boys and my daughter.  Then Wednesday got to go into town, get the boys hair cut etc., pay for badminton course, etc. etc.  Then Thursday we are all of to mum's, help her do her shopping up at Sainsbury's (wonder if they'll let me buy the DHMS mag this time lol) and then we are off to lunch at the gorgeous Parlour Tearooms, omg their cakes are sooooooooooooo yummy you wouldn't believe!  Then rest of Thursday will involve sitting on the sofa not daring to move as I shall be so full up!

Got to do a few more knitting things in readiness for Chrimbo, and will do Paula's wall hanging patchwork for her Christmas shop.  Fireman Sam still got to be knitted as well, the list never ends!

Christmas Knitting

Just a quick little post as i'm a bit busy today, but wanted to show you my first Christmas mini knit, it's a cute snowman with snow falling all around!  Have to say it wasn't the easiest thing to knit as I did it from a pattern, and well, the pattern left a lot to be desired!

Well, here it is, hope you like it and I will be doing some more themed jumpers when i come back, well if I can get the enthusiasm up that is!

Christmas Quilting

Well although I hate to say it, Christmas seems to be fast approaching!

Have made my 1st Christmas themed mini quilt, and I have to say I rather like it!  Shame to sell it, but needs must!  I don't do any Christmas themed mini stuff so it will be wasted and end up living in a cupboard here, so on ebay it has gone!

Still not started on Lake View (slapped wrist) just seem to be busy "making things" at the moment.  Got some Christmas toys to make, plus Christmas mini knits, plus more Christmas quilts!  It never ends!

I will get Lake View started though, I must, I must, I must!

Not had a brilliant couple of weeks I have to say, and now seem to have got a rotten cold which isn't helping my mood!  Kids  tut, they bring these germs home lol.

We are away at the weekend as well, (colds/flu permitting) on an Activity Weekend run by our local National Autistic Society, should be fun!  Glad to say i'm not doing the activities!  Not sure if Matthew will take part or not, i'm hoping he will, but if he decides not, then there's not a lot of pursuading him lol.

Anyway, here's the Christmas quilt, hopefully you'll be able to see all the Christmas themed fabrics.
