More Quilting and Been Naughty!

Finally finished the Fireman Sam jumper for my great nephew, thank goodness!  It drove me mad, safe to say I won't be knitting any more of them!

Lake View is still sitting unopened in the cupboard, tut at me.  It will make an appearance soon!

Just finished a little quilt for my dear friend Paula, this is for her new Vicar who will be living in the new Rectory.  Had to try and not make it "pretty" not easy as I love pretty fabrics!  Here is the progress and finished quilt.  The squares are 1cm each and I think I used a total of 168 tiny patches!  Took a lot of patience I have to say, I don't mind the sewing it all together, it's the tacking of the papers in that drives me mad and then getting them all out again!

Am making 2 more quilts for Paula for her new servants quarters as well, so that will keep me busy for a
 while!

Now for the naughty bit!  I shall be taking possession of a new house next week, by the ever talented Julie.  This is called Beacon Cottage, now I haven't any idea what it will be, maybe a new house or maybe a shop, I really can't decide.  Hoping inspiration will hit me when I see it.   This new acquisition is, of course, as usual, all Paula's fault!  She is a very, very bad influence, and is always blamed for my purchases lol.

Well that's it for now, better go and feed the children!

Still Here!

Just so you know I'm still around!

I seem to have been busy knitting again, full size rather than mini, but have quite a few projects lined up mini wise, some more quilts mainly!

At the moment i'm knitting a Fireman Sam jumper for my great nephew, also named Sam!  I have to say the picture was quite challenging and I ended up with about 12 balls of wool attached at one time, drove me mad!

Am going to be doing a couple of mini quilts for my friend Paula, and I've also unearthed some cute fabric that I bought yonks ago, have bought some co-ordinating plain fabric and will make a couple of quilts from that as well, it is a patchwork style fabric so i shall just put it all together, shouldn't take nearly as long as the proper patchworks but hopefully will look nearly as nice!  Well that's the theory anyway.

After I've made these quilts, my next project, most definitely, without any delay will be Lake View, although I still find it quite scary I do have a yearning at the moment to get it out the cupboard and open the boxes!  I have a feeling it is going to take me forever to do, there's a lot of wood to stain, although I prefer staining to painting, and i'm not 100% sure what to do with the outside yet either, let alone the roof!

Even More Mini Knitting

Have to say the mini knitting seems to have taken over again!  I do enjoy doing it though so I mustn't complain.

Over the weekend I've completed 2 more of the mini rag dolls for a lady on Facebook, here's a piccie of them

Then this evening a made a few little bobble and beanie hats, for no reason in particular lol, and have put them on ebay now!  They would be great for a little display in a shop or just for dolls to wear as it's still a bit chilly out there.  Here's a piccy of them

I think that's all the mini knitting i've done since the little school jumpers.

I have finished a little jacket for my great niece, don't know if it fits yet as i've not seen her but my sister will take it down to her next week.  That's been about it on the knitting front.

I've been naughty this evening and ordered more fabric for mini patchworking!  Why do I do it, i've got tons of fabric already  lol, sometimes it's just hard to resist!

I shall be trying to keep busy now as i'm back on the Slimming World wagon, so best to be occupied and not constantly thinking about food!

Lake View still hasn't made it out the cupboard!  I've no excuse really, just the scale of the job putting me off!  Why oh why did I buy it in blank kit form!  It must be done though, am hoping when i do get it out the box it spurs me on to build it and doesn't put me off forever!

I've still not made a "selling page" on my blog, slapped wrist again, but if you do see anything i've already made either knitting or patchworking then just give me a shout and we can sort it out, can do many colours other than those shown, if i've got the colour I can make it!

Just been browsing ebay again looking for a little poseable baby doll as i'm itching to knit some mini baby clothes got some lovely patterns, but would like to display them on a baby doll, think they always look better and it makes it much easier to get a decent fit although saying that different dolls seem to vary in size so it doesn't really help!

Just going to watch Ripper Street (Mr Selfridge is recording) and then I think an early night is in order again, must try and get a decent nights sleep!

More Mini Knitting!

How's everyone enjoying the snow!  Luckily most of it's gone here, although the roads and paths are still treacherous, hopefully it will all be gone completely by Sunday.  Think we may be due a bit more tonight but am hoping it won't be very much if we do end up with some.

Not been able to go very far in this weather but have not been idle, well maybe as far as housework is concerned lol, but have been doing quite a bit of crafting, started knitting a jacket for my great niece, but of course mini knitting soon overtook!

Had an email from a very nice lady asking if I could make her 2 grey v necked school jumpers, for her "twins", of course I did, any excuse for a bit of mini knitting!  Well I managed to get them finished today and here they are

Although they are very plain, I really rather like them and they are very reminiscent of school days!

Also my dearest friend Paula asked me to make a few hats to boost her supplies in her knitting shop, so managed to make a few this evening which will be on their way tomorrow.  I do like hats and scarves and things like that as they are so quick to make.  Here they are

Paula's also asked for another doll, and I just happen to have one in the cupboard!  I'd forgotten about it, but a lightbulb has just come on and i've remembered I'd sold the golly doll but not the dolly doll, so that can head off tomorrow as well!

As you may have already guessed Lake View still hasn't made it out the box, it will do, it's got to!  It can't sit in the cupboard much longer, it's got to be done!  I've also got a gift voucher for hobbycraft from Christmas and i'm itching to use it!  I'm sure if I start Lake View i'll be finding lots of things to spend it on!

Well, that's enough for tonight, watching CBB and really hoping that Speidi don't win, keep hoping they are going out and they're still in grrrr!

Mini Patchwork

I've finished the mini patchwork for Paula, surprisingly it took most of that pile of patches to complete, I also did a little patchwork pillow as well.   I'd forgotten how long these patchworks take, it's the preparation of the patches that takes the time rather than the sewing together, this was quite a tiny quilt made with 1cm patches and hexagons as well which always take longer.  Also did a couple of mini jumpers as well.

Have been busy making a jacket for my great niece as well, so mini knitting is on hold at the moment.  I shall be starting an order for a couple of mini grey school jumpers though, probably will make a start on them tomorrow.  I've also got another Christmas quilt to make for another lady so I shall be quite busy lol.

I'm really only doing patchworks and knitting to order now, I am debating with myself whether to have a "Showing" page here on the blog and then if anybody wants a quilt or knitting can order it in whatever colour etc. they want.  It's still just an idea at the moment, really need a few more followers, but that's my own fault for not keeping on top of my blog, must do better in future!  I'm thinking of maybe doing a giveaway as well, maybe with a mini quilt or  mini knitting or something or maybe both!

Anyway here is the finished quilt that i made for my dear friend Paula, forgot to take pics of the jumpers before i sent them doh!

Is it really January!

Hope everyone had a lovely christmas and wish you a Happy New Year.

I can't believe it was November when I last posted!  Have to say haven't really done much mini-ing, Christmas sort of overtook!  I was still crafting but just  not mini!  Made quite a lot of things for Christmas presents, including patchwork cushions, gloves, scarves, etc. etc.  So it was definitely more a home made Christmas!

Still Lake View is sitting unopened in the cupboard.  I find it such a daunting project, very scary building from a bare kit, especially when it's in 2 separate boxes, well 3 if i include the garden room, but it will be built and decorated this year.

I have just started a mini quilt for my friend Paula.  It's made using the tiny 1cm hexagon patches, although I did seem to get carried away making the patches and am sure I will have far too many, although it will take quite a lot, as it's only a single quilt it's taking 11 hexagons across and 9 hexagons down, so will see how many are left and if there are enough I will make another quilt, but I think maybe there won't be enough to do a complete one, but while sorting out all my materials I did find quite a lot of "leftover" patches so may just combine them and make a multi coloured quilt.

Anyway here's the quilt so far, only started sewing it together this morning so still a long way to go.

Have quite a few mini projects lined up, so think I will be a busy bunny!  Got to make another Christmas quilt, although there's no rush for that as it's not needed till next Christmas, also got a bit of mini knitting to do, going to do some mini knitted patchwork blankets and also got to do another jumper.  I've also got a few full size knitting projects to do as well, not sure when Lake View will be built at this rate!

It's definitely getting colder and I think there might even be a bit of snow Monday, even down here in the South.  I've got a stew bubbling away on the stove at the moment, winter is definitely here!

I shall apologise again for my lack of blogging, but i really don't know where the time has gone!  Hope everyone had a lovely time over the festivities but now unfortunately it's back to normal!

Mini Knitting for Paula

Although i haven't managed to update my blog, I have been busy mini knitting for my dear friend Paula for her shop at Quayside.

She wanted some Christmassy things for her wool and christmas shop, so i got busy with the mini needles!  I have to say I think my favourite is the reindeer jumper, i'm really pleased how it turned out

I've also done a bit of mini christmas patchwork as well.  Have made 1 mini double quilt and also a little wall hanging as well.

As well as these, have also made a snowman, santa and snowflake jumper and hat.  Also a little doll and golly, so I have been quite busy!

These will all be on their way to Scotland tomorrow
